Help Protect Minneapolis!

The other day, while the people of Minneapolis flocked to 27th/Nicollet to grieve, someone asked on socials if anyone could drop off some handwarmers. So people did. We did too. It was -10F, and we were seriously worried that folks would get frostbite.

When we arrived, a few other folks were also bringing warm things. Like you do, when neighbors have needs. We couldn’t imagine that this kind of action would make some people mad, but apparently it did.

When people don’t have the framework for the power of loving your neighbor, the results often confuse them. It looks like conspiracy when it’s really just love.

In our house, we thought “Pop Up Leftist Supply Depot” was the funniest thing we had ever heard. We knew the person who wrote the word “Free” in cute PROFESIONAL GRADE bubble letters so we thought we might see if we could actually bankroll BANKROLL a good cause or two!

Also, since this isn’t about making money for ourselves, we wanted to give away the original files for anyone else who wants to screen print, tape, or paint their own. All we ask is that any profits go to a good cause supporting the people of Minneapolis or wherever immigrants need help.

These files are free to use on the condition that any proceeds you make by using them go to organizations that help Minnesotans as we stand together to keep our communities safe. We are choosing to send 100% of our profits to two local organizations: Monarca and MIRAC (Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Center).

MIRAC is an all-volunteer, grassroots, multiracial, and multinational immigrant rights mass-movement organization. MIRAC fights for legalization for all, an end to immigration raids and deportations, an end to all anti-immigrant laws, and full equality in all areas of life.

Monarca is a coalition of thousands of workers, students, people of faith, parents, clergy, business owners, teachers, caregivers, and young people. We are a movement that has trained over 20,000 everyday Minnesotans as neighborhood observers to help protect people’s rights where it matters most—on the ground, in our communities.
